So you’re an independent, inquisitive traveller who’s looking for the perfect opportunity to really get to know that exotic city of faded elegance – Buenos Aires.

Well, this is your invitation to travel to Buenos Aires for an insider’s 10 Day “Howdy Buenos Aires” tour…

…and commencing late 2010, an opportunity to experience the wine country of Mendoza.

A quick question: Are you interested in a trip to Argentina departing mid-October 2010?

Then we’d love to hear from you. These small group tours are perfect for the single traveller or couples with groups numbering between 6 to 10 people.

The essence of Howdy Buenos Aires is to enable you to totally immerse yourself in this wonderfully vast, Spanish-speaking metropolis while minimising the frustrations of the language barrier and the time it can take visitors to simply navigate this city – with flights, accommodation and a Spanish speaking guide included who’ll not only show you the highlights of Buenos Aires but also lead you to where the average tourist doesn’t roam – from private restaurants, to the best steak, old tango halls, jazz clubs… to the drama of a live football match.

We also aim to keep to an ‘all up’ outlay covering flights-accommodation-airport transfers – and daily guide) that’s very reasonable. We are also excited this year to offer the option of 2 days in Mendoza – a beautiful town, nestled at the foot of the Andes and the centre of Argentine wine country.

Howdy Buenos Aires exists for the modern day, independent traveller who wants an intense, personalised Buenos Aires discovery experience – off the main drag – with other like-minded individuals seeking to have a great time and a great holiday in this enormous, dynamic city. We don’t do several continents in several days but we do know Buenos Aires and Argentina – intimately.

Interested? Then please read on…

This 10 day visit to the Paris of the Pampas is designed to give first time visitors an up close, intimate and at times, offbeat introduction to one of the most sophisticated travel destinations in the world – while meeting the people and exploring their food, wine, music, fashion, art and culture.

“Mike Howie’s Howdy Buenos Aires Tours gave us a real insider’s view of this vast city while also giving us ample time to explore independently. We hit the ground running and saw Buenos Aires, an amazingly vast city, in a way that would have been impossible without someone with intimate on-the-ground knowledge – definitely recommended.”
Stephen Marr, Ponsonby, Auckland

My Philosophy;

“To experience and gain an insight into the gritty, fascinating, reality of Buenos Aires – the eating, dancing, lounging, shopping and walking – you first have to find a way to bypass the clichés and in doing so get an insight into both the classical and the new in this infamous port city.

Since 2001, the year of this country’s worst economic meltdown, I began making extended sojourns to Buenos Aires. In the past seven years, the country has undergone a miraculous renaissance especially with regard to the local art, fashion, culture and the very way Argentines perceive their place in the world. It’s a fascinating time to greet the Argentines.”

A note on the itinerary: The tours are designed for up to no more than 10 inquisitive travellers – those who want to explore/shop/museum hop/cafe lounge for part of the day will have ample opportunity with incisive walking maps and general guidance being offered. As well, there’ll be daily ‘mini’ activity tours with Mike, a fluent Spanish speaker.

Check out the Itinerary here – it’s designed to give a flavour of the essentials for a ten day insider’s jaunt to Buenos Aires. It’s suggested only and nothing is fixed or mandatory.

The 10 day Howdy Buenos Aires experience includes return airfares, airport transfers and modern apartment accommodation as well as Spanish speaking guide for the cost of between $4500 and NZ$4900.00 (refer ‘the small print’) and refer to Itinerary…1 and Itinerary…2
